Some journeys have a clear beginning and end. Others unfold through meetings, appointments, and stops along the way. Choosing the right transportation arrangement starts with understanding which kind of day you are planning.
Translux offers point-to-point transportation and service by the hour. Both provide private transportation with a professional chauffeur, but they serve different needs. The details of your booking determine the agreed schedule and scope.
Point-to-point: a defined journey
A point-to-point transfer is built around an agreed pickup and destination. It is a useful starting point when you know where you need to go and do not need a vehicle to remain available afterward.
Examples include a hotel-to-venue journey, a transfer between properties, or transportation to a scheduled appointment. For airport transportation, include the airline and flight number so the arrival details can be coordinated as part of the reservation.
If you also need a return ride, request it explicitly with its own pickup details. Do not assume that the original vehicle will wait at the destination unless that has been agreed in advance.
By the hour: time reserved around your plans
Hourly service reserves a vehicle and chauffeur for an agreed period. It can suit a day with several appointments or a sequence of stops where arranging each journey separately would make the schedule harder to manage.
Think of a business day with meetings in different locations, or a private itinerary that includes several planned visits. Share the outline even if some departure times are still approximate.
The flexibility comes from reserving time, not from having an unlimited itinerary. Confirm the service area, duration, waiting arrangements, and any additional charges with the reservations team before booking.
Multiple stops do not automatically mean hourly service
A transfer with one planned stop may still be straightforward to coordinate. Conversely, a journey with only two destinations may involve a long wait and require a different arrangement.
Explain what happens between pickups and drop-offs:
- Are stops brief, or will passengers spend several hours at a location?
- Should the vehicle remain available during that time?
- Are departure times fixed or dependent on an event ending?
- Will everyone travel together throughout the itinerary?
These details help the team recommend a suitable structure without guessing how the day will unfold.
The useful question is not only “How many places are we visiting?” but “When do we need the vehicle available?”
Ask what the quote includes
Before confirming either service, review the pickup details, planned stops, passenger and luggage requirements, and return arrangements.
For hourly service, also ask about minimum booking duration, how the reserved time is measured, and what happens if the itinerary runs longer than expected. For a transfer, ask how additional stops or waiting would affect the reservation.
Do not assume that parking, tolls, waiting, or other incidental costs are included or excluded. Ask for the inclusions and any applicable conditions in writing so the arrangement is clear.
Build a practical itinerary
Send the team your pickup address, destinations, preferred times, and any non-negotiable arrival deadlines. Include the passenger and luggage counts so the vehicle choice fits the plan as well.
A clear outline leaves fewer details to resolve on travel day, whether you need one direct journey or several hours of coordinated transportation.
